Are We There Yet?

My first boss told me you can't learn graphic design on the job, and that I should go back to school. Instead I took any design related job I could get.

Over the years I have worked at a variety of companies (textiles, web design, fashion, book publishers), and learned many skills, some that they teach in design school, like using fonts and learning computer programs, but there are a lot of things I could've only learned outside the class room, like being flexible, working with a team, and adapting quickly. Ultimately, it doesn't matter which path you take, learning doesn't stop.
